Hotel Premium La Orchid, Big Temple

The staff was friendly, polite and really prompt. The food services were nice. The breakfast was freshly prepared and nicely arranged. The locations is roughly 5 kms from Thanjavur junction.. well connected. Highly recommended.

I really liked their restaurant Uma Mess. The food was delicious and very accessible. The reception staff were very nice and helpful. The people who served the room weren't great.

The bed wasn't clean. The sheets looked old and dirty. We asked them to change the sheets again and still the same. The sheets had stains. Since it was just one night, we adjusted. The walls of the room were not clean. They had scuff marks and scribbles and worn out. They could paint and make them look better

Ventilation could have been better and the maintenance crew did not check and see if the bathrooms had running hot water. We had to go with a cold shower

Hotel is clean and tidy , break fast timing is 7.30 for a person who is on the move early can be an issue, the hotel was chasing me to pay stating that they were busy but reality was the other way and is quite free as far as i see aroung

Cancel the booking if the hotel asks for payment in advance!

The hotel kept on sending me emails demanding payments for confirmation although it was guaranteed by booking.com. When I tried to pay, none of the options wormed. They cancelled my booking ! I still stayed there based on other ratings. Poor breakfast. Inconvenient bathroom.

New and Contemporary room. Overall facility was good. If Service is fixed to be extremely pro-acticve, will visit again.

Service was not upto the mark.The water leakage through the Gun at Commode was very bothering (two nights). Shower was a problem, complained about it and no one showed up to fix.In-room service of Food was bad (Cold, average taste and on expensive side).

The room doors close with a huge bang, so while the guests are walking around (and the members of large Indian families not only walk around at night, but also shout to each other from the rooms) the corridors are very loud, there is no chance to rest. The ventillation system and the AC are also very noisy. The walls, the bed linen and the towels were not spotless.

There wasn’t much to like.The location was good.

The reception staff were appalling. They didn’t know words such as welcome, hello, thank you, sorry etc. OR maybe these are only reserved for certain folks. The shower head was broken and despite me informing them I had to tell again after being away for the day visiting sites, returning for a badly needed shower that I couldn’t take. I had booked a double bed but the tried to fob me off with twin beds, only to grudgingly find me another room after I showed them the booking confirmation with the details. No apology for either issues.

The staff were very good. They put the medications in the fridge for us.The room is big with good facilities. Room service staff are very good and responsive. We were given toilet paper without having to ask. Extra pillows and towels upon request. Bed sheets fairly clean. One green marker stain on bottom sheet.In regards to Indian hotels that we stayed at this one stands out. Very reasonable price. Great AC. Water pressure ok. Responsive staff.We called housekeeping and ordered extra water delivered to the room.Has a lift.Uma Mess restaurant onsite. Very good. Try the prawns 65.

A little smell in bathroom. Most Indian hotels seem to have an open sewer.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food in the Uma mess was absolutely ravishing. Facilities for car parking and car driver were good.

The reception area Ac was not on. It was very hot in the reception area.

Very Average. Crockery used was pathetic. Melmoware crockery badly maintained. Food quality also average.

The restaurant is a low class one catering to people looking for cheap food. Not befitting the class of the hotel.
